Biography
Dr. Theodore A. Granovsky, BCE
Dr. Ted is a native of St. Paul, Minnesota but has lived in Bryan, Texas for
the past 31 years. Since April 1984, he has directed the
activities of Granovsky Associates, Inc. and the International
Institute for Urban and Social Insects which provide Knowledge Based
Pest Solutions to a wide range of clients, including: Attorneys,
Clinics, Food Distributors and Processors, Hospitals, Manufactures,
Multi-national firms, Pharmaceutical Firms, Pest Control Operators,
PCVN (The Pest Control Video Network) and Zoos.
Some
people call him the Ant Man for his innovative research on Pharaoh
ants. His early 1980s research on food preferences and an improved
baiting technique have greatly aided in efficient management of this
ant. His work resulted in the development of Drax which helped to open
the door for the use of various new baits to control ants.
Others know him as Dr. Ted from over 90 independently produced videos and PCVN (a bi-monthly pest control video program).
Whereas,
others know him as Professor from the nearly 6 years he was Project
Leader for the Urban Entomology Research and Teaching Program at Texas
A & M University; his 3 years of teaching in Paraguay, South
America; his 2 plus years as an Instructor at Kansas State University;
or his 25 plus years of technical presentations for PCOs, food
processors, and hospitals.
His
extensive field and research experiences include work with ants, bats,
cockroaches, fleas, flies, honeybees, rodents, storage pests and
termites. His novel research on termite infestations resulted in
extensive documentation of termite infestations in three Texas cities.
He also was the first to develop and teach a junior/senior level course
totally dedicated to Urban Pest Management at Texas A & M
University.
